THREE WORDS. EIGHT LETTERS. I’M YOURS.

He came up to me and whispered,
“I love you, my princess”.
And I thought to myself again,
Cliche. Absurd. Empty. Meaningless.

Without another word,
The man wrapped his arms around me.
I felt his heartbeat racing.
My tears fell reluctantly.

I felt all the happiness in the world
When he said it again.
Three words, “I love you.”
Now true. Eloquent. Certain.

That is an excerpt of the poem that I wrote last night. I don’t know if it makes sense to you. It’s just a fragment of the whole thing. I don’t want to post it yet because I still feel there’s something missing.

Have you ever doubted LOVE? I mean, people always say “I LOVE YOU” even if half of the time they don’t mean it. Sometimes they say that just for the sake of, uhm… saying it. Yeah, ridiculous.

It’s both funny and annoying how love brings out all the stupidity in our system. We fall for sugarcoated words. You know, the famous “I love you.”, “I care for you.”, “I can’t live without you.” “Forever.” Those stuffs. Sweet. Lies. I should know. I’ve had a hefty serving of it twice.

ate Tricia, what a great poem. Yeah, it make sense, but not ALL people who are telling that he/she loves you, it doesn’t mean that he/she is sincere. Of course, not people have the same attitude. Btw, i miss yu ate. I’ve been busy with school works this month. Take care sis.
